X-Jour Travel Assistant App

Problem Statement

X Jour is an application we designed for a client in Berlin.

The solution was intended to simplify the process of booking and planning journeys as well as connecting with like-minded travelers on your journey.

 

We moved forward with wireframing around 4 main ideas – Journeys (planning and itinerary), Chats (social connections), Memories (Media) and Diary (Media-rich Personal Notes) 

 

Ideation and solution

A desktop web based app was created as well as a Mobile companion app that the user can access their calendars, planned trips, social connections and explore local areas as well.

 

After many meetings with the client to discuss and understand the business requirements from the app, we began by tracking the high level user flow of the solution – which changed over time based on usability testing, the main focus changed to more user accepted terms – Destinations, Connect, Memories, Calendar.

From this we created wireframes in mobile first. We planned to flesh out the desktop from the mobile functionality and adding the planning functionality.

UI Design, Prototype and handover

We fleshed out the wireframes into full UI designs for mobile and then created the desktop site designs which include more detail for organising travel plans..,

Handover was seamless and a few icons needed to be updated but overall devs got all assets and design system from the Figma prototype delivered via email link.
